We were in the beginnings of the world’s first pandemic in hundreds of years. The beginning of a new era was upon us yet we were unaware of the impact it would have on the lives of people all over the world. 

The virtual event cost $47 to attend. It was three days of amazing inspiration, leadership, and education from Danny Iny - he does not disappoint! It was the best event I’d ever attended. We were assigned a virtual “table” inside Slack and the event was broadcast live on Zoom. Each table had 6 - 8 people. Interaction with our table-mates was encouraged through questions, discussion topics, etc. One of those at my table was a woman named Deirdre Harter.

By the end of the three days, we all vowed to keep in touch, and we did for a little while. Deirdre reached out to me almost immediately and kept reaching out. I’m introverted and don’t easily open up my world so I was admittedly reluctant at first, but I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and we connected.

Every Zoom chat we had revealed more and more that we had in common. Soon, I found myself suggesting we meet more often. Before we knew it we were meeting weekly, and by October Encore Empire was born! 

It’s a fantastical story of divine intervention, ambition, and kismet! It also highlights the immense power of networking. Encore Empire wouldn’t exist if we hadn’t met. We wouldn’t have met if we weren’t each taking action to improve ourselves and our situations. Whatever you do, ALWAYS identify your next action step because you never know where it will take you.
